St. Nacho’s by Z.A. Maxfield is a story of redemption and accepting one’s past. I acquired this book some time ago and recently had been able to sit down and enjoy it. I went in with a “why not” attitude. I thought it would be a basic romance with some recovery aspects. But I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a far deeper and emotional story. There were moments where I felt my heart wrench worried about what was going to happen to Cooper Wyatt, the main character.
from his childhood to college, and finally adulthood. This book is unique as it was published after the author’s death. When he wrote this tale, he didn’t think it would be well received by the public considering its content.
Friendly Fire by Cari Z, tells the story of Elliot McKenzie trying to turn around his past. Elliot was a former lawyer who was disbarred five years prior following a scandal at his former law firm. He takes the opportunity to start Charmed Life, a self-help program to help people get a second chance in their career and life.
The Tutor is a historical fiction written by Bonnie Dee. This m/m romance has that dark gothic feel that many historical fiction readers love. This one was a bit different for me, as instead of reading this book I did the audiobook read by Ruri Carter. This made the tone of the story a bit different for me.
“Tangled Up In Blue” is a book by Marion Castella. It is quite the emotional rollercoaster of a story. It starts simple enough but quickly changes as the threads of the story begin to unfold and secrets are revealed. It twists into a larger conspiracy that leaves the reader worried that the two main characters may not be able to find a way to make it work out.
How to Set the World on Fire is a novel by T.K. Riggins. It is set in a world of magic where children with various talents are sent to a special academy to train and learn to use their discipline. The story revolves around Kase Garrick a warrior who feels the need to prove himself. He is a delightful guy who is more friendly than most warriors.
