Hey everyone, I hope things have been going well. I thought I would give an update on where I am at with writing and where I plan on going with them this year.
For starters, currently, Breaking Bones the sequel to Sticks and Stone is being edited. I received notes back from my editor and am currently working on them. I anticipate it coming out this year but don’t want to set an exact date, as we are not far enough into the edits for me to comfortably do that.
Along those lines, I have completed the first draft of Never Hurt Me, the third and final book of the Sticks and Stone trilogy. It was such a relief to get that done on paper finally. That being said, I will be doing a huge rewrite of it, as I want that book to start at a different point, than what I did in the draft. I won’t work on the edits until we are further along with Breaking Bones. I am hoping for a 2024 release for it.
I have been working on edits for my Holiday Romance story. I was hoping to release it in October. But not sure if it will be happening this year. Breaking Bones is my main focus, so I am not moving through the Holiday edits as quickly. Next up is The Poison Tree. I have an updated version available to patrons at the Avid Reader and up tiers on Patreon. The current version is with some alpha readers who will be giving me some notes so I can do more updates with it. This story I intend to try to get it traditionally published. So it will be a while before it gets a full release.
Finally, where I am with my Urban Fantasy series. the first book has been edited a few times. As I decided to make quite a few changes from my original plan for it. There is an updated version available to patrons at the Devourer of Knowledge and higher levels. Any further updates to that story I have paused, as I have decided to write books 2 & 3 first drafts before I finalize book 1. I want to make sure they line up and I don’t have to do any, yada-yada, in later books to explain things. With Camp NaNoWriMo starting tomorrow, I will be writing a first draft for the second book. A section of it, I have written before, which I will be rewriting to go into more detail about certain mythos in that universe. So keep an eye out for updates on that. Where book 1 focuses on shapeshifters, book 2 focuses on wish makers.
